Dark Edge                             Manufacturer: Sega               Year: 1993 Descpription: Two humanoid characters fight in the earliest 2-D form of a 3-D one-on-one fighting arena. Punches, kicks and special moves propel the player through a total of eight opponents to victory. Sega's first 3-D, one-on-one fighting game. It used Sega's System 32 arcade hardware which also empowered Spider-Man, Arabian Fight and Rad Mobile to do real-time scaling of characters and to simulate 3-D movement within an essentially 2-D arena. This system wasconceptually junked in favor of the 3-D Virtua Fighter several months thereafter.
