This game has eight unusual and unbelieveable competitions. These competitions are to test the strength and might of four mutant athletes called "Numans". In this game, up to 4 people can play simultaneously or alternately. The game did go on to spawn a sequel called Mach Breakers: Numan Athletics 2, which was released in 1995. Numan Athletics, Knuckle Heads and X-Day 2, all run on the Namco NA-2 hardware system. This game was released in Japan and parts of Europe, but was never released in the United States.
